Here you’ll find eight awesome reason to visit Piney Town Playhouse in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.

Finding activities that are entertaining for a toddler and a six-year-old, at the same time, isn’t always easy. If it’s for tots, it’s boring for children; if it’s for children, parents are often left sitting around trying to manage a toddler with nothing to do – not fun!

When we find a place that is great for both age groups, we consider it a win.

And…

Piney Town Playhouse is a winning establishment!

Let’s talk about it.

Piney Town Playhouse Indoor Play Center Review

In the last two weeks, our family has been to three different indoor play centers and Piney Town Playhouse was the best. Here’s why:

1. Easy RSVP

Piney Town is open to the public but reservations are highly encouraged and it was easy to make reservations on the Piney Town website.

2. Quick & Easy Payment

If you like efficiency, you’ll like how simple it is to pay online and secure the time spots you want for play time. The website is easy to follow and checkout on the platform is a breeze.

At the time of this post, there is a sibling discount and two parents are included with the purchase of each child ticket.

3. Efficient Check-In

If you follow the instructions and make your payment online AND complete the waivers, like we did. Check-in at the indoor play center takes less than a minute.

I really don’t like taking the time to complete waivers online just to get to the door and need to do it again. Unfortunately, this happens often.

4. Separate Play Areas for Babies

There are play areas for the little ones that are separate from the big play space for the older kids.

Baby Play Area

The baby play area was completely blocked off to the area where the older children had access and the area had appropriate toys {large}, and there were enough toy options to share.

5. Thoughtfully Designed Play Areas for Older Children

The importance of imaginative play {pretend play} can’t be overstated when it comes to learning and child development and the creators/curators of the Piney Town Play Center have created a space where the imagination can soar. Check out some of the pretend play spaces below.

Fire Truck

Play fire truck with a seat, hose, fire hydrant, dress up costume and more.

Barnyard

Take a trip to the barnyard with a garden, hen house, and more.

Love that there is enough space for parents to get in on the play too!

Market | Grocery Store

Little ones can shop at the market with pretend cans, fruits, vegetables, boxed items, check-out counter, shopping baskets, and more.

Construction Area

Children can enjoy bricks, helmets, costumes, play tools, and more.

Doctor’s Office

Children can help friends, pets, or dolls get better with doctor equipment, dress up, waiting area, and more.

Theater Stage

Your child can put on their best show at the Piney Town Production Stage.

Police Station

Children can become a police officer and put the local trouble-makers behind bars. I got put behind bars once, thankfully a little helper broke me out with a chainsaw from the construction area. Children can be helpful, when we need them the most. LOL.

Service Station

Children can pump gas, change oil, and help out at the local service station with a pumping station, toy cars, and more.

There are a few other play areas like the book/reading area, a slide with climbing elements, and a block table that you can check out with a visit. Overall, it’s impressive how many themed areas were imagined and created just for children to play. Were these around when we were growing up?

6. Seating for Parents and Grandparents

The play center isn’t huge but there is seating outside the play area with tables, benches within the play area, and chairs along the perimeter of the play spaces, so that children can be seen playing from many different viewpoints.

7. Cleaniness

The toys look clean and they’re in good condition. This may not seem like worth mentioning but we’ve visited indoor play centers where the toys look like they need to be replaced or in need of a thorough cleaning.

The bathrooms and baby changing areas were clean. Also throughout our visit the staff did their best to put toys back in their respective areas, of course the children did what they do best {chaos} but the effort to keep things tidy was appreciated.

8. Indoor Play

We’ve noticed an increase in the number of indoor play centers and we are loving it. Centers like Piney Town Playhouse are perfect for rainy days, hot days, muggy days, or days when air conditioning is preferred over the weather outside. It’s comfortable enough for the little ones and for older adults who may not be able to cope with more intense weather days outdoors.

We Recommend Piney Town Playhouse

If you are in the Raleigh or Fuquay-Varina area and looking for something to do indoors with children, consider a visit to Piney Town Playhouse. The staff were efficient, the space was clean and safe, and both our children, two and six, enjoyed themselves and met new friends. This could be the perfect place for our next indoor playdate.

Other Piney Town Offerings

We have no experience booking a party in the private back room or with the summer camps that are offered but they are interesting options that are available. If you are looking for an indoor play venue in the Raleigh area, be sure to check them out.

After You Play in Fuquay-Varina, NC

If you are from elsewhere in the triangle or visiting Fuquay-Varina from out-of-town, we recommend making a stop to the charming downtown area; it’s less than a five-minute drive from Piney Town Playhouse.

Fuquay-Varina Downtown

There are places with live music in the evening and good restaurants that are family-friendly like Nil’s Mediterranean Cuisine (so good) and across the street there is an ice cream shop for sweet treats. 😉

We hope you make the trip out to Piney Town and downtown Fuquay-Varina for some wholesome family fun. If you do, let us know in the comments if you enjoyed it as much as we did.
