10 Things You’ll Love About Pleasant Park
1. Pleasant Park has sections for toddlers and smaller children.
Too often we visit parks that are perfect for my toddler and not so great for my older child or vice versa. This park has something for all the children without being so spaced that I can’t keep an eye on both.
2. There are sections for older children that intrigue and excite because of the size and challenge.
Your older children are sure to get excited and a bit nervous when seeing the large climbing structure that is attached to along green slide that centers the playground. For those non-adventurous little ones there is the shorter blue slide.
3. Pleasant Park has several climbing sections.
If your children scale your sofa, jump from their beds, and think tables are for standing, they may enjoy testing their climbing abilities at this park.
4. Pleasant Park has nature play features.
There is a slide embedded into the side of a hill, a mud kitchen, tree stumps (short and tall), and wooded seating that is great for little nature lovers.
5. The Park has a splash pad named Splashlantis
The splash pad wasn’t open during our visit but it is a nice option for hot summer days.
You can visit the Splashlantis section of the Park’s website for the rules and operating hours.
6. There is an abundance of open space
There is often a ball, a frisbee, and an old beat-up kite in my trunk just in case I find a large field of grass. I appreciate that the developers thought to add space just for open play. It makes up for my disappointment in the low number of shelters that are available. Grab a picnic blanket and cop-a-squat and watch your children run and play.
7. Fields & Courts
When you have children under 12, the playgrounds at the parks get the most attention but I appreciate that Pleasant Parks has basketball courts, pickle ball courts, tennis courts, and baseball and softball fields that are planned.
8. Ample Parking & Accessible
I’ve been to too many parks that don’t have enough parking but this wasn’t the case with this park. There is abundant parking and getting from the parking lot to the various areas of the park is accessible for those need extra support. I pay more attention to accessibility features since my husband was in a foot boot and a knee scooter for a pinch.
9. Clean Restrooms
Pleasant Park is a new park so I expected the restrooms to be clean and they were. Also the bathrooms were not a long walk away from the playground; parents understand why this is worth mentioning.
10. FREE Outdoor Entertainment
The parks and recreation departments are valuable entities that make our communities better. I know the park wasn’t free but the investment in quality playgrounds and parks help give children screen-free outdoor entertainment that parents don’t need to pay for at each visit. The parks bring families together and promote healthy activities. I’m thank fun for this brilliantly planned park.
Visiting Pleasant Park?
It’s a large park and fun for young and older children but I highly recommend going weekdays during the day; timing your visit right may help you avoid the massive crowds that this park attracts.
Note: Don’t forget your water bottles and a few snacks.
I hope your family enjoys the park!
